8:00 – 9:00 pm: Auditions: Monologue or Short scene from play. (PREPARE ONE ONLY!)
9:00 – 10:30 pm: Callbacks in pairs with audition sides *
*If you are not called back that does not necessarily mean you are not being considered.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

This play is set in Imperial Russia (1830s rural Russia). Some roles will be doubled up. Please, no Russian accents!

ANTON ANTONOVICH (Male), the Governor, a ruthless politician

ANNA ANDREYEVNA (Female), a ruthless Governor’s wife

SIERRA SERANOVA (Female), progressive liberal daughter 

MISHKA (Female), servant of the Governor

 

LUKA LUKAWICH (Female), Director of Schools, lazy politician

MIKAIL LYPKIN (Male), Judge, paranoid politician

DARIA SHELFISHOVICH (Female), Hospital Commissioner, cunning politician

DOCTOR HUBNER(Female), a visiting Doctor from Norway.

POSTMASTER (Female), Mailperson and town gossip

PUGO (Male), Police Constable

 

BOBCHINSKY (Male), Middle class wannabee. Wants to be a politician

DOBCHINSKY (Male), Middle class wannabee. Wants to be a writer.

 

IVAN ALEXANDROVICH KHLESTAKOV (Male), a Government civil servant

OSIP (Male), his assistant

 

WAITRESS (Female), Works at the inn.

 

Townspeople (All are disgruntled with the Governor.)
