Chapman Scholars Program — Upcoming Deadline

By December 3, 2018Summer Opportunity, News

As you may know, the Chapman Scholars Program funds five awards of $5000 to help ambitious first- and second-year students in the College of Arts and Sciences fund meaningful summer activities connected to their future goals.

I am writing to let you know that we are once again searching for applicants for the February 1, 2019 deadline.  I have attached the application. More information is also available at: http://artsci.k-state.edu/student-resources/opportunities/chapmanscholars.html

While the Chapman is open to funding many kinds of summer opportunities, the committee particularly values proposals that

1.       Show initiative in the pursuit of unique opportunities

2.       Are tailored/well-matched to the student’s interests.

3.       Require a financial outlay or would make it difficult for the student to earn money over the summer.  I.e. opportunities that already pay a summer stipend are typically not competitive for Chapman funding.
