The Walnut Street Theatre is in search of eager emerging artists for our Professional Acting Apprenticeship. Based out of Philadelphia, The Walnut Street Theatre is America’s Oldest Theatre. It is also the Official State Theatre of Pennsylvania, and a National Historic Landmark. With nearly 50,000 season ticket holders, the Walnut is also the most subscribed theatre company in the world!

The Walnut Street Theatre Professional Acting Apprenticeship is a season long opportunity. The apprenticeships runs from September 2024 – May 2025. During that time, Acting Apprentices perform in 4 youth touring shows, star in at least 1 WST For Kids Series shows, and have the opportunity to understudy two mainstage shows. Acting Apprentices leave the apprenticeship with lasting community connections, and 7 professional credits on their resume. They are also given access to unlimited free classes during their term, a full scholarship to be in the program, and a weekly stipend of $500 to assist with personal expenses associated with participation.
