Our next visitor for the English Dept’s 2018-19 Visiting Writer Series is Laura Moriarty, who will be giving a public reading on Friday, February 22, from 3:30-4:30 pm in the Wildcat Chamber.
Laura Moriarty received her degree in social work before returning and getting her M.A in Creative Writing from the University of Kansas. Her latest novel, American Heart, was described as “terrifying, suspenseful, thought-provoking, and touching” by Kirkus Reviews. She was the recipient of the George Bennet Fellowship for Creative Writing at Phillips Exeter Academy and won Elle Magazine’s Novel of the Year for The Rest of Her Life (2007). She teaches Creative Writing at the University of Kansas.
