USITT Conference in St. Louis

By November 13, 2022News

George here, some of you may have heard me talk about the annual USITT Conference to be held in St. Louis next spring (March 15th-18th, the tail end of Spring Break). Registration is not open yet for students unfortunately, however, they have started taking applications for Student Assistants. What is a Student Assistant you ask? This is from their website: “Student Assistant (formerly Student Volunteer) positions are highly sought after each year. Make sure to apply early for these positions. Volunteers will be able to work in all areas of Conference such as the information booth, stage expo floor, bookstore, registration, and more!”

There are several benefits to being a Student Assistant, first and perhaps foremost is that you do not have to pay for the conference (you do have to be a Student Member of USITT which costs $70 and there is a $25 application fee, but that, combined is far cheaper than the conference registration alone). Additionally, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and/or make useful contacts within the industry.

If you are at all interested in attending this conference, then I would highly recommend applying for one of these Assistantships sooner rather than later (they fill up quickly). As I have mentioned before, I will be attending this year and will be driving, so if you need transportation to and from St. Louis, then I am more than happy to provide it.
