Frequently Asked Questions

Fall Greetings from URTA:

For more than 40 years, the University/Resident Theatre Association has provided candidates in all fields of theatre interested in professional, graduate training with access to a large, diverse and tremendously accomplished group of MFA programs. URTA offers a unique, efficient and timely approach to pursuing placement in graduate programs across the United States and the UK.

Applications for the 2013 National Unified Auditions and Interviews are now available. The PDF is attached to this email ( see side bar ), or you may download it from our web site. If we have your department address, you should be receiving a full color poster in the next few weeks. In the meantime, feel free to print or forward the attached document to your colleagues and students.

Candidates may also apply online . The first link in the sidebar goes directly to the application page on our web site. Candidates who apply on line do not need to obtain signatures; instead, they provide email addresses for the nominator and for the Head of the Nominating Institution. This executive will receive an email from URTA to verify the nomination, so please remember to watch for those emails if you plan on nominating candidates.

The Handbook for Actors and Coaches and the Design Guidelines will be sent to candidates applying in those areas, and they are available on our web site. We encourage coaches and advisers to read these documents. We also have short videos about the NUAI process, and hope you will find them useful as you help your candidates prepare.

If you would like to be removed from our mailing list, please do not click “unsubscribe.” Simply reply to this email and we will update your institution’s information so that URTA communications go to someone else. There are other URTA services, such as Contract Management, marketing, and conference events, that may be of use to you and your institution.

Thank you for helping us share the information about the upcoming auditions and interviews with your colleagues and students. If you have any questions, or need additional information about the process, please let us know.

Best regards,
