UPDATED: Peninsula Players Internship

By February 25, 2020News
Peninsula Players, America’s Oldest Professional Resident Summer Theatre, celebrates its 85th season of performing along the scenic shores of Door County, Wisconsin in 2020.

Peninsula Players Theatre is now accepting applications for its restructured 2020 internship program and 85th season.

In the past, our interns rotated through different shops during the season. The restructured program eliminates rotations and interns will work in a single shop for the summer. We changed the program because students have become more specialized and want a more specialized internship.

We seek ten (10) college/university students or recent graduates with technical or administrative interests to become members of our company beginning May 25th. We will be hiring two (2) Administrative / Box Office Interns, four (4) Scene Shop Interns, one (1) Prop Shop Intern, one (1) Costume Shop Intern, one (1) Lighting Intern, and one (1) Stage Management Intern.

We also seek an Assistant Box Office Manager, a Carpenter, a Master Carpenter and a Master Electrician and a Costume Shop Assistant. Click here to learn more to see how to apply!

Peninsula Players 2020 season runs June 16 – October 18. Staff report date is May 18th and the intern report date is May 25th with some positions ending September 9th while others run until October 21st. There may also be some flexibility with these dates.

We kindly ask you to post or circulate this announcement to students or to those whom you feel may be interested in working with Peninsula Players during the 2020 season. If your academic program allows students to return to campus after Labor Day if they are participating in an internship program or your students are graduating, please share that information with the students.

March 15th is the deadline for completed internship applications.
Please, no emailed or postal mailed applications.

Peninsula Players has 16 acres of cedar-lined shorefront on which we produce, build, rehearse and perform our works in a 621-seat all-weather pavilion.  We also house everyone who works for us on this property as well.

We seek passionate and dedicated theater students who are also “good campers.” In the true sense of camp, everyone works together and plays together to produce professional theater in a serene and nurturing environment. Many members of the artistic company are working professionals, members of Actors’ Equity and United Scenic Artists, in the Chicago area, offering excellent opportunities for networking with working theater professionals.

Thank you for your time and consideration, and if you have questions or would like to know more about Peninsula Players and its internship program, please feel free to contact us at 920-868-3287 or e-mail me at production@peninsulaplayers.com. Those interested in our administrative positions and internship program may contact Audra Baakari Boyle, Business Manager at audra@peninsulaplayers.com
