Student Interviews Needed for Graduate Research!

By September 12, 2022News
Hello everyone!  My name is Michael Larson. I am a second-year graduate student at Kansas State University and conducting research on members of Generation Z and their experiences in high school and the affects they have had on their mental health.

For this project, I will be devising an ethnodrama about the experiences of high school students. An ethnodrama is a written play script consisting of dramatized, significant selections of narrative collected from interview transcripts, participant field notes, journal entries, personal memories/experiences, and/or print and media artifacts such as diaries, blogs, e-mail correspondence, television broadcasts, newspaper articles, court proceedings, and historic documents. I will be developing and producing an ethnodrama about Generation Z. I will conduct research about Generation Z and conduct interviews with individuals across the nation on Zoom to get their personal accounts about their experiences from high school and how sometimes there are certain societal pressures that they face. I will then take these transcripts and develop a script either using the transcript verbatim or using the interviews to develop the themes of the show that will be discussed. I will present a staged reading of the project in the Spring 23 semester.
