Spring Break Trip to New York City: Juniors & Seniors

By December 13, 2016January 5th, 2017Theatre, Trip, Ticket Comps

A student development trip to New York City is being planned for eligible undergraduates for  the week of March 19, 2017. 6-8 students will be selected.

Eligibility to receive airfare, lodging and theatre tickets:

  • undergraduate students IN GOOD STANDING ( 2.5+ GPA with a strong record of attending Theatre classes) with at least 75 earned credits (juniors & seniors), and students who graduated in Dec. 2016
  • active in Theatre program (not necessarily a major)
  • willing to write a donor “thank you” letter after the trip

Preferred: 21 years old by March 20, 2017

If interested, please send an email to Jennifer Vellenga (vellenga@ksu.edu) describing your eligibility as listed above and why you should be selected to attend the trip. Include information on your past experience in NYC- if you have been there, describe your experience; if you have not, describe what you expect to learn.  Please be thoughtful about how the trip will enhance your education and further your goals. Two paragraphs are not enough to be reflective, four pages is probably too much.  Email due Dec. 26, 2016.  The order in which the applications are received will not matter. (Focus on your exams!)

Students are responsible for all meal expenses and incidentals (plan to budget at least $350).  Airfare, shared hotel accommodations, and a couple of theatre tickets each are being funded by a generous donor.

Selected students will be notified by email the week of Jan. 9, 2017.
