Hello all!
Here is all the information you will need regarding Showcase next week!
September 5th, (next Wednesday), at 10:30 pm in the Purple Masque will be this year’s FIRST Showcase that I know everyone is super pumped about. This year we are pushing strongly for not only us theatre folk to perform but also any music and dance peeps to come and perform as well! We figure because this is a department wide event we should try and get anyone from Music, Theatre or Dance to come and perform. So if you or any of your friends would like to come and showcase your talent, whether its singing from the top of your lungs, drawing tears from an emotional monologue, making us laugh because of how funny your stand-up/improv is, have a moving piece of movement/dance, or anything in between, please please please do not hesitate to sign up!
We will be having 5 minute sign ups for the evening which should give anyone more than enough time to make us kneel before their awesomeness. So you have maximum 5 minutes to perform, but of course that doesn’t mean you HAVE to do something for 5 minutes. We are just tryna keep the night from running for 5 hours… so definitely sign up!!
ALSO! If you or your friends are designers and would like to put up their work in the lobby or talk about a piece they created, sign up! We would love to see the beautiful work our wonderful designers are working on, whether it be a costume, a piece of art work, or anything you would feel comfortable sharing with us!!
AND of course don’t forget about Midnight Madness!! The end of the night where anyone is welcome to create a short scene about anything they want (within reason of course) that will be sent in anonymously. We will draw names from a hat, and whomever is lucky enough to be chosen, will perform one of the scripts! Then, once finished, we will destroy the script, never to be seen or heard from again. So if you feel so inclined, write a short script, send it to scneel@ksu.edu, again, anonymously (or through a proxy), and we will have some fun with it!
