LOVE & INFORMATION: UPDATED AUDITION INFO

LOVE AND INFORMATION AUDITION INFORMATION

Monday, Nov. 14, 6:00-10:30pm Love & Information, directed by David Mackay is having Auditions AND CALLBACKS.

Please note, the cast of Love & Information will need to arrive for rehearsals BEFORE classes start, the week of January 2, 2017.

Love and Information is an unusual and unique play. Caryl Churchill examines, explores, celebrates and questions where we are in our contemporary society. Her focus is on how the information that makes us human beings; our feelings, dreams and minds, are negotiated in a world dominated by a different kind of information. We are adrift in a sea of internet, religion, mathematics, communication, news, ads and Facebook. How does this affect our relationships? How does it affect our memories? But rather than giving us an answer or presenting a moral tale, Churchill offers up snapshots of ourselves, existing, loving and figuring, and it is up to the audience to decide what they make of it.

The Audition

Pair up with someone. You and your partner will prepare for your audition EITHER Savant (1 page) or Fate (2 pages). SCENES ARE POSTED HERE.

What I’m looking for in your audition:

This play needs a strong ensemble of diverse actors. While there are many, many scenes, we all have to be in the same world of the play.

I need actors who make choices.

Acting choices rooted in believability and honesty.

Actors who work to make a strong scene not a solitary performance.

What are your given circumstances?

Do you have an energized objective?

Do you have different tactics to achieve your objective?

Are you listening and reacting?
