The Merryman Performing Arts Center in Kearney, Nebraska has recently created a full-time lead technician position to assist with events at both the Merryman PAC (760 seat historical venue) and the new Kearney High School Concert Hall/and Theater (1000 seats).
The Merryman presents an annual season of 18-20 nationally touring shows as well as a concert series, local professional theater and other events.
This is an entry-level position for a well-rounded technician; primarily audio and lighting, but with some minor stage rigging and carpentry work as well. It’s a mix of solo work and working with students and faculty in a variety of events and performances. There will be a couple of design opportunities a year, as well as opportunities at other nearby venues (4,000 seat arena). This position will be a good portfolio builder for recent graduate or someone who likes the variety of a presenting/rental house and working with high school students.
There is a $1,000 relocation stipend available to applicants.
