CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

Elizabeth

A powerful woman who is confident in herself and her abilities. She sticks to her guns and calls others out on their drivel. Though she tries to hide her sensitive side and the love she has for Roy, she is loyal and faithful to him to the bitter end.

Hattie

The town gossip. She knows everything about everyone and is never afraid to share it. Hattie has an opinion about everything, and everything that has gone wrong is because of her husband and kids.

Amy Lee

Cletis’s wife who also partakes in gossip, but in a more subtle manner. Spoiled woman; strict Baptist; queen of the country club. And Hattie’s old enemy.

Roy

A Vietnam war veteran. The bull-headed, strong, uneducated type that small town folk look up to. His 1959 pink Thunderbird convertible is everything sacred in the world to him.

Ray

Roy’s brother. Even more uneducated than Roy is, and he has no sense of irony. Always looks up to Roy and tries to cheer him up, but he does not understand what his brother has been through. At least he tries.

Cletis

An example of the small town folk that look up to Roy. Married to Amy Lee for her father’s money, and works at his appliance store. A disagreeable person who no one really wants to be around.
