The KSTO board hopes you all have been having a great summer and have continued to stay creative.  We would like to offer you an outlet to keep connected to theatre, as well as fellow students, by hosting another session of Virtual Staged Readings! At the end of last school year we had our first set of readings that ended with four incredible performances.  While it was a new challenge to direct and perform in a virtual setting, both actors and directors did amazing work and ended up with awesome results!

We know that one of the most important aspects of being a theatre student is having an outlet and opportunity to be involved in the arts. And as most theatres have closed off work this summer, KSTO wants to provide a space and opportunity to keep active in theatre, keep your creative juices flowing, and be able to provide some entertainment to our communities.

Therefore, we are looking to have student directors take on some staged readings over two weeks in July.  The first being the week of the 12th – 18th and the second being the final week of the month, the 26th – Aug. 1st.  I am reaching out to you all specifically because you all have shown interest in our events and/or the past set of staged readings. If any of you are interested in either directing a staged reading this semester, please email Emma Price at emprice@ksu.edu by noon on Sunday, July 5th

Once we have heard from directors, we will be in contact to set up a meeting to discuss shows and a set audition time. Auditions will be held at the end of next week at a time that works for all directors and actors.

We know theatres and theatre people everywhere are taking a huge hit right now.  Thankfully, we are able to continue to provide shows, entertainment, smiles, an escape, and opportunities with events such as this.  Keep your head up and stay creative!
