Kirmser Undergraduate Research Award: $1,000 for First Year Students

By August 28, 2019News, Scholarships

Due to a generous gift from Philip and Jeune Kirmser, K-State Libraries is able to award three undergraduate research awards. One each for a freshman, a non-freshman, and a group. In the past they have been able to award $1000 to each individual (including each individual in the winning group).

There are three elements the student has to turn in to be evaluated:

  •  The actual research assignment from the class.  (The assignment has to be for a credit-bearing class and not for research completed in a lab without enrollment in a class.)
  •   A bibliography for the assignment.
  •   An essay describing their research process in detail, but not to exceed 1000 words.  (This is the only element needed outside of what the student would turn in for the class assignment.)

The awards are granted in the Spring semester but assignments from the Fall are eligible.
