Joy Harjo: U.S. Poet Laureate. A Reading and Musical Performance

Joy Harjo is the first Native American to be named Poet Laureate of the United States. Her career has been dedicated to poetry and music as healing forces – for individuals and for our society.  She will be visiting K-State to do a reading and musical performance open to all.  Come watch, listen, and relax while she shares her incredible work!  

Before her performance at K-State, Manhattan Public Library will be hosting an event called Learn About Joy Harjo!

“U.S. Poet Joy Harjo is known for her interactive performances, which include spoken word, live music, and powerful writing.  The presentation will introduce the audience to her work through readings and videos, and will also include a lively discussion of the texts provided.”
