Indigenous Peoples Day 2018 Poster & Schedule

Dear friends,

Attached is our K-State Indigenous Peoples Day Poster! This is shaping up to be an incredible program. Remember–we have moved the event to the Union Ballroom this year.

We will be screening Warrior Women over the lunch hour during the conference. See below for preliminary schedule.

8:15-9:00 Check-in & Continental Breakfast

9:00-9:30 Conference Opening: Color Guard, Opening Song, Welcomes

9:30-10:20 Elizabeth Kronk Warner (JD, University of Kansas): “Raping Indian Country” How current government policies are making tribal environments and Native women more vulnerable

10:30-11:20 Robin Zape-tah-hol-ah Minthorn (PhD, University of New Mexico): “Indigenizing the Academy and Reclaiming the Space of our Ancestors”

11:40-1:15 Lunch, Warrior Women Film Screening & Discussion

1:30-2:20 Breakout Sessions: Food Sovereignty, Education, Research Methodologies, Politics

2:30-3:20 Maggie Walter (PhD, University of Tasmania, Oz to Oz visiting Fulbright Scholar):  “Indigenous Data and Indigenous Data Sovereignty”
