The play, Fire from Heaven, has had a significant re-write over the summer. The new synopsis is:
“War isn’t a sin. There is war in the Bible,” Spencer, a young parishioner and Army enlistee, says to Pastor Brady. These two sit to have a difficult conversation about the Bible and what it means to be a Christian in a violent society. By reading (and watching) the story of Elijah, they discover the importance of taking action, and the ramifications of a politically motivated interpretation of Scriptures.
