Rehearsals will generally be Sunday-Thursday from 7-10pm. You will only be called when you are scheduled to work. You will also be called the Sunday afternoon of tech week, for a photo call and for costume fittings. Performances are: September 28-October 1, 2023, in Chapman Theatre.
All cast members and understudies are called for the first week. (Tess, we can be flexible with Mondays.)
Understudies are asked to come whenever possible, but we have flexibility in when that is. You will fill in during rehearsals and performances if/when the principle cast member cannot be there, learning the entire role (with YOUR unique take on it!). Please take advantage of this unique learning opportunity (plus it’s fun!). Understudies are being used more and more in the industry and developing the ability to do it will help you tremendously.

REHEARSALS
Rehearsals take place Sunday through Thursday from 7 to 10pm. Our first read-through and table work will happen on Thursday, Sept.7th with the first music rehearsal on Monday, September 11th. Our extended tech day happens on Sunday, October 15th with afternoon and evening rehearsals. The week into opening (October 16-18th), dress rehearsals are approximately 6pm to 11pm. The second week will have a Wednesday, Sept. 25th matinee to accompany the high school workshops. It will be followed by the photo call with no evening rehearsal. ALL performers MUST enroll in THTRE 566-C for 0-1 credit and MUST participate in strike following the closing performance. We will do our best to work around conflicts from your audition sheet only.
UNDERSTUDIES or WONDERSTUDIES!
While not required to attend every rehearsal, you will be expected to learn all blocking and dialogue for the role. We are crafting some targeted rehearsals for the understudies with a potential run-through by you for your friends and family. More information on that as it is still in discussion. The tireless work of understudies has become a much-valued skill in professional theatre as they continue to deal with the fallout of the pandemic and covid.
