Counseling Services: Therapy Groups with NEW Anxiety Group

By August 30, 2019News, Organizations

K-State Counseling Services offers group therapy to all K-State students during each semester. Their educational skills groups are a great fit for students who want to learn coping skills for managing emotions and anxiety.  They also have a new skills group this semester called Taming Your Anxious Mind.

They offer two types of groups:

Groups for skills and support:

  • Taming Your Anxious Mind: This group will help students better understand anxiety and learn skills to manage anxiety through teaching and experiential activities as well as support.
  • Calming the Storm: For students wanting to build skills to more effectively manage emotions and distress.
  • Living with Loss: For students experiencing grief after the loss of someone close.

Process groups:

  • Graduate and Nontraditional Students Group: For those graduate or nontraditional students seeking support and to improve their relationships.
  • Spectrum: For individuals who identify as LGBTQ; a place to seek support and increase self-acceptance.
  • Understanding Self and Others: Open to all students interested in improving their self-understanding and relationships with others through giving and receiving interpersonal feedback.
