As you may know, the Chapman Scholars Program funds five awards of $5000 to help ambitious first- and second-year students in the College of Arts and Sciences fund meaningful summer activities connected to their future goals.
I am writing to let you know that we are once again searching for applicants for the February 1, 2019 deadline. I have attached the application. More information is also available at: http://artsci.k-state.edu/
While the Chapman is open to funding many kinds of summer opportunities, the committee particularly values proposals that
1. Show initiative in the pursuit of unique opportunities
2. Are tailored/well-matched to the student’s interests.
3. Require a financial outlay or would make it difficult for the student to earn money over the summer. I.e. opportunities that already pay a summer stipend are typically not competitive for Chapman funding.
