BREAKING: Auditions for CURIOUS & IPHIGENIA May 3rd

Auditions and Call Backs for IPHIGENIA AND OTHER DAUGHTERS by Ellen McLaughlin and  THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME by Simon Stephens (adaptation of Mark Haddon’s novel), directed by Emily Trube, will be held on Thursday, May 3rd from 5-11pm.

 

WHEN
Thursday, May 3rd (A second day of callbacks is not planned)

CURIOUS INCIDENT… 5-7pm, N017 in Nichols Hall; reading sides with partner(s)
Callbacks: 7-9 pm; movement and reading sides

IPHIGENIA 8-11pm, Chapman Theatre, cold read sides & movement call.

Please bring your list of Fall 2018 conflicts and availability. Copies of the Audition Form are in Nichols 129

The Sisters:

Iphigenia: a young woman on the verge of maturity

Electra: extremely problematic woman in her late twenties or early thirties

Chrysothemis: an enigmatic cool presence, a few years older than Electra

Orestes: their brother, a young man who has seen too much to be young anymore.

Clytemnestra: their mom, a queen and make no mistake
Chorus: Five women
Performs in Chapman Theatre October 4-14, 2018

CURIOUS INCIDENT…
Five Women, Five Men, One Dog

If you play a small instrument (harmonica, flute, violin, spoons, washboard, percussion), please bring it. Accents will be used in the production.

Christopher Boone: 15-years-old. Christopher experiences life differently from most people. He loves math, Sherlock Holmes, outer space and the color red. But, he very much dislikes being touched. Other people’s behavior confuses him, as do their facial expressions.

Siobhan: (Age not specified) Christopher’s teacher at school and narrator of the play. She is smart, patient and kind. It is her idea for Christopher to write the story of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”

Ed Boone: Christopher’s father, late 30’s to early 40’s. He runs his own heating repair business. He is largely very patient with Christopher, but has a violent temper.

Judy Boone: Christopher’s Mother, late 30’s to early 40’s. She is easily overwhelmed by Christopher’s behavior and by her role as mother.

Sandy: Live dog who appears for a few minutes at the end of the play.
