AUDITIONS: “Somewhere” – Roles for 2 men!

Auditions for a stage reading of an original musical, Somewhere, will be held on Sunday, April 8, from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm in Nichols 017. Somewhere has music from current K-State student Sterling Oliver, and book/lyrics from K-State alumnus Brent Weaver. K-State alumna Shannon Madden serves as the show’s producer.

Roles are available for two men. Auditions will consist of learning music from the show and cold reads from the script. Sides will be available at auditions.

The stage reading will take place at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, May 2nd. Rehearsal schedule will be provided following auditions.

Please contact Sterling Oliver at sterlingmoliver@ksu.edu if you’re planning on coming to auditions!

In July, the production team will be producing the show at the 2018 KC Fringe festival. Auditioning for this production does not require commitment to be in the KC Fringe cast, this is mainly for the stage reading in May.

Synopsis: In Somewhere, an LGBT dramedy, two friends move to Chicago—one to pursue his dream of graduate school and the other to escape her toxic home life. However, these two friends soon realize that moving to a new place doesn’t necessarily mean you escape your problems. Set against the backdrop of discrimination on college campuses, our characters must confront how the injustices in their lives shape who they become.
