AUDITIONS: National Players Tour 71

By October 17, 2018News, Jobs, Theatre

Hello!

I’m seeking actors for the 71st tour of National Players, the nation’s longest-running touring company out of Olney Theatre Center.  We are seeking a very diverse company of actors (specifically Native American, First Nation, and Indigenous actors for our production of WALK TWO MOONS).  Please see information below and contact me if you would like to set up an audition.

We Can Come To You!

We have an audition tour each year that is already taking us through Boston, NY, Chicago, DC/MD/VA, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, to UPTA and to SETC.  If you are near those areas, please get in touch so we can make sure we schedule a time to see you and let you know as we get closer.

Company, Casting, and Shows:

We’re doing AS YOU LIKE IT, WALK TWO MOONS, and THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK for Tour 71. All 10 actors in the company are in every show.  We’re looking specifically for Native American, First Nation, and Indigenous actors for WALK TWO MOONS, to make sure those roles are cast appropriately.  The rest of the company is going to be as diverse as possible as well.  We are hoping to tell ANNE FRANK as a story about what it means to be a refugee now – and what that looks like in our world.   That means a cast that reflects our world.

The Players are also are a completely self-sufficient company once they go on the road, meaning that the company also have technical and administrative duties.  Someone is the Master Electrician, someone is the Finance Manager, someone is the Technical Director, and so on and so forth.  Players are trained by Olney Theatre Center staff for these positions.

Who Are We?

If you don’t know anything about the National Players yet, you can find a lot of information about us on our website, where you can also follow our current tour: http://olneytheatre.org/national-players .
