Come audition for Bare: A Pop Opera Sunday, May 12 from 7-9 pm at MAC!
Bare: A Pop Opera, the off-broadway cult classic, will have a two-show performance at MAC on July 12 and 13, with rehearsals primarily on weekends from May 25 to June 30. While most of the principal cast has been selected, we are looking for talented performers to help round out our cast in the following roles:

NADIA – principal role (can play teen female): Nadia is a sarcastic and witty musician, who struggles with her body image as a person who is overweight and the expectations her parents place upon her.

TANYA (can play teen female): Tanya is popular, a strong dance, and Lucas’s girlfriend.

LUCAS (can play teen male): Lucas is the school’s drug dealer, a source of comic relief, and Tanya’s boyfriend.

ZACH (can play teen male): Zach is a jock, charismatic, popular, and Kyra’s boyfriend

RORY (can play teen female): Rory is sarcastic and a bit of a loner.

PRIEST (can play 40s-60s): The Priest is the Headmaster and spiritual leader of St. Cecilia’s.

We are potentially looking for stand-ins/covers for some principal roles.
At auditions, you will participate in a brief movement call and be taught a music excerpt from the show to sing.
Things to know before auditioning:

You will not need to prepare anything for this audition.

Arrive before 7 pm to get checked in prior to the 7 pm audition start time.

All auditionees must be 18+ due to the sensitive content of the show.

Bare explores themes of sexuality, religion, mental health, body image, suicide, and more. Ensure you are comfortable engaging with these themes upon auditioning.
