Arts Camp Hiring (Michigan!)

By May 8, 2023News

Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp is looking for college students to serve as camp counselors for the summer of 2023! Theater education and theater arts majors have the opportunity to serve as mentors and role models for our campers. Share this information with college students who seek unique experiences in growing skills and connections! Camp counselors have opportunities to engage with arts education throughout the summer, by assisting in Blue Lake’s theater department, supervising theater students during classes, and working with professional faculty. Teaching positions with our junior campers are also available for those who qualify. Working at Blue Lake this summer will give your students a chance to:

  • Connect in an in-person arts community: make lasting friendships, work as a mentor and leader to young people, and receive mentorship from camp leaders and arts faculty.
  • Enjoy the arts in a natural setting: enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Manistee National Forest while instilling a lifelong love of the arts.
  • Make an impact: camp counselors are an integral part in the development of the next generation by inspiring campers to pursue their art with renewed enthusiasm.
  • Gain leadership and youth development experience: our staff combine training and hands-on experience to build skills in the areas of communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, community-building, creativity, and more!

Located in West Michigan’s picturesque Manistee National Forest, Blue Lake is a non-profit summer school of the arts serving thousands of elementary, junior high, and high school students each season. Counseling staff positions are for a full 9-weeks in residence (June 13 – August 14). Salaries range from $2100-$2450 for the season, with housing and meals provided. Season-end bonuses are available for those who qualify. Please help spread the word to students at KSU about Blue Lake and the available summer positions.
