StrawHat Auditions take place February 16-18 in New York City. The deadline for a complete application, including your emailed picture and resume is Saturday, January 5th 2013. Strawhats is an organization that supports the careers of non-equity actors and technical artists looking to start and continue their professional careers in the theatre. Its main activity is to produce the StrawHat Auditions, which are held in New York every spring. Over three days, over 750 actors and “techies” and staff from over forty theatres attend. Actors audition for available positions in the theaters’ summer seasons while technical people post their resumes and portfolios online and arrange phone or onsite interviews.
Midwest Theatre Auditions (MWTA)
MWTA will take place February 22-24 at Webster University in St. Louis, MO. Audition applications are due December 7, 2012. Design Tech Interview Application deadline is January 11, 2013. Audition/Interview for Summer Stock Companies, Graduate Programs, Internships, Year-round Theatres.
Southeast Theatre Conference (SETC)
Current students: to be eligible to audition for SETC in Louisville, KY in March, you must first audition at a state screening in Maryville, Tennesee Oct. 27-28 to qualify at the state level. SETC will take place March 6-10 in Louisville, KY. The application for the screening audition in TN is due October 10th! Kansas is “out-of-region” so the screening location is Tennessee. SETC hosts the country’s most reliable, longest running combined auditions as part of the Annual Convention (March 6-10, 2013, Louisville, KY). Over 800 professional actors and actresses audition and get acting jobs with theatre companies from across the nation for both summer and year-round employment at repertory, stock, summer, touring and dinner theatres, cruise ships, theme parks and other entertainment venues.
New England Theatre Auditions (NETC)
NETC Auditions take place March 16-18 in Natick, MA. The application form for the 2013 Auditions must be postmarked no later than Friday, February 1, 2013 to be eligible. Applicants must be college students or adults, 18 & older. High school students or individuals under 18 are not eligible. In addition to young performers, producers are interested in seeing mature, adult talent with professional experience and/or experience in community or summer theatres, for both seasonal and job-in employment. Producers will also be interviewing musical directors, designers, and applicants for technical and staff positions.
