By December 18, 2012October 4th, 2014Volunteer Opportunity

An unconstitutional proposition. An unprecedented decision. An unforgettable event. A new play by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black (Milk, J. Edgar), “8” chronicles the historic federal court trial of California’s Proposition 8 using actual court testimonies and media interviews. Learn about the arguments used to justify discrimination and hear empirical and emotional evidence about why gay and lesbian American should have the fundamental freedom to marry.

Kansas State University will be doing a reading of “8” as the only theatre representative in the state of Kansas.  Readings of the play are taking place all across the country.

If you are interested in being involved in this historic event, contact Jennifer Vellenga, Marci Maullar, or comment below.  Date of the reading is to be determined, but it is likely to take place one night in April.
