Dr. Peter Weinert, assistant professor of music education, recently published an article in Update: Applications of Research in Music Education titled “A Survey of Individual Practice Requirements in K–12 Band and Orchestra Instruction.”
This article focused on the requirements instrumental music teachers do and do not have for their students and the rationale for their choices. Update is an official journal of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). Dr. Weinert has also presented this research at the NAfME biennial research conference and at the Kansas Music Educators Association In-Service Workshop.
