THIRD Annual Theatre Excursion to Kansas City
Sept. 16-18, 2016
The K-State Theatre Student Development Fund is supporting the 2016 KC Theatre Excursion. Students selected for the trip will be provided transportation to and from Kansas City, hotel accommodations (4-6 students per suite hotel room), theatre tickets to four different Theatre productions, and one dinner (at New Theatre). All other meals and any incidentals will be the responsibility of each student.
Eligibility requirements:
- undergraduate student with at least 75 earned credits (juniors & seniors; seniors get priority)
- active in Theatre program (not necessarily a major)
- willing to write a donor “thank you” letter after the trip

Students will be chosen based on eligibility and the content and clarity of the email application. Theatre majors are given first priority, but non-majors who are active in Theatre will also be considered. Students must act responsibly and be strong ambassadors for Kansas State University.

6:15pm Chicago, New Theatre, 9229 Foster, Overland Park, KS; dinner provided, possible post-show talkback
Sat, Sept. 17
11:00am Visit Nelson-Atkins Museum or pre-show brunch/talk with Evita cast members
2:00pm Evita, KC Repertory Theatre, Spencer Theatre, 4949 Cherry Street
Kansas City, MO
Dinner
8:00pm Hand to God by Robert Askins at the Unicorn Theatre; possible post-show talkback
Sun, Sept. 18
2:00pm A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams, KC Actors Theatre, City Stage at Union Station
(First year students in the “Cultural Masks” CAT Community will also get tickets to Streetcar and will be traveling to KC on Sunday only. Their trip is funded by K-State First)
7pm arrive back to campus
The K-State Theatre Student Development Fund was established by an anonymous donor to be used for professional development for students in the last three semesters of their undergraduate degree experience. This fund supports travel related to research & creative activity (including but not limited to theatre tickets, flights, lodging and other travel expenses). These funds will be used without restriction to race, gender, national origin, religion, age, sexual orientation or disability.
