ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

A contemporary story of love, art, and identity set in a small university, follows the steadily intensifying relationship between Evelyn and Adam. As Evelyn strengthens her hold on Adam, his emotional and physical evolution discomforts his friends Jenny and Phillip, with unexpected consequences for all.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

ADAM

A young, intelligent man who lacks confidence. He is a sweet and clunky English major who never passes on an opportunity to allude to some piece of literature in a clever way. He starts a romantic relationship with Evelyn and becomes infatuated with her, even to a point of altering his physical appearance.

EVELYN

A young, progressive woman. She studies contemporary art and is very comfortable with her sexuality. She is worldly and values art above all, including her personal relationships. She is manipulative in her relationship with Adam to an almost sinister extant.

JENNY

A young, innocent woman. At the beginning of the play she is engaged to Phillip. She had hopes of beginning a romantic relationship with Adam, but Phillip beat him to it. She lacks some confidence and often doesn’t know how to speak her mind. She is very sweet.

PHILLIP

A young, confident man. At the beginning of the play he is engaged to Jenny and a long time friend of Adam. He often comes across as arrogant and usually lets his opinion be known. He is a bit insecure, but he masks it. He wears sunglasses on his forehead.
