There is a unique Study Abroad course being offered this Spring, with Travel to Prague and Terezin in late May 2015. The course is Music 599: Bridging Music and Structure in European Cultural Centers: Prague. The course will focus on performance venues and other unique structures in and around Prague. One venue of interest to Theatre majors is the New Stage – take a look at the link to this awesome building! (http://www.narodni-divadlo.cz/cs/nova-scena). You will have the opportunity to attend not only music productions, but other live theater.
The city of Terezin, which has a rich musical contribution that came out of the atrocities of the Holocaust, is also a very unique “structure” in that the city itself was conceived as a fortress even before the Nazi’s took over.
Dr. Rosine and Prof. Kramer are working to tailor the course to a variety of students. Please contact Dr. Rosine if you are interested. The link to the course is here: https://ksu.studioabroad.com/index.cfm?FuseAction=Programs.ViewProgram&Program_ID=11759
