Hello Region 5 Playwrights!
I hope that the new academic year is off to a great start for you! I wanted to take a moment to let you know about some important upcoming deadlines relative to the Region 5, Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival 51.
First, our festival this year takes place in the beautiful (even in January) city of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The festival dates are January 21 – 26, 2019. Grand plans are underway in all areas, and it is sure to be another incredible festival.
Whether you are a seasoned playwright of Region 5 or just starting your college journey and interested in exploring the world of playwriting, we will definitely have opportunities for you.
The first and most important of those opportunities is to SUBMIT YOUR PLAY!
All plays are submitted to through the private Region 5 Submittable website after you create an account (if you are new to the Submittable process). There is no charge to set up this account. Please be sure to follow the directions carefully.
We are currently accepting submissions for 10-Minute, One-Act and Full-Length Plays. Deadlines for submission are November 1 for 10-Minute and One-Act Plays, and December 1 for Full-Length Plays.
Our KCACTF Region 5 website has been updated and any additional information you need can be found there. Once you reach the website, you will find the Playwriting information in a dropdown menu under the ‘Students’ tab at the top of the page.
Also, please find and join our R5 NPP Facebook page at: Region 5 kcactf – National Playwriting Programs. Check this page regularly to stay in the loop with all things ‘Playwriting’ in Region 5.
