The Department of Hospitality Management will be offering a special summer section that may be of interest to a wide range of students throughout campus – Principles of Convention, Meeting & Event Management. Typically this course is only offered in the fall semesters and is oftentimes filled by Hospitality Management students only. This offering will allow students interested in meeting & event planning to get an introduction to the industry.
Through lecture and experiential activities, this course introduces the role of a convention, meeting, and event planner; identifies environmental and technological trends in the industry; and exposes student to meeting, convention, and event management systems from inception to delivery
This summer intersession course meets from July 31 – August 18 and it will be taught online for the first time in course history.
