Scholarship Sites/Alt Funding

By March 2, 2017News

Hi All,

Please see the below link for websites that list various scholarships. Many students ask me about scholarships outside of Theatre and K-State. Looking for scholarships is a job. Approach it strategically.

In addition, check and see if your hometown, county, church/synagogue/mosque, civic organization, parent’s job, etc. offers a scholarship. People have also been turning to alternative modes of funding, such as GoFundMe and Patreon. Enterprising students often offer to perform at an event, organize a birthday party (Disney or Marvel themed!), babysit, teach an acting lesson, do some art work, sing a song, write a song, bake a meal, etc. Don’t be hesitant to pursue these options! They may open doors for when you seek funding for a production or another educational or artistic endeavor. It never hurts to look toward family and friends for support, AND you get to share your expertise with them.
