Hi Everyone,
One of the greatest ways to learn about Theatre today – everything from new shows and the in’s and out’s of being a professional in Theatre – is through podcasts. What are podcasts? Essentially, podcasts are radio programs that you can download onto your phone, laptop or device. Simply go download the iTunes or Podcast Addict app to your device and you can open up a world of wonders – and learn a bit about Theatre. Or, you can stream these from your laptop or desktop. They are great fun and make washing dishes and driving much more enjoyable, especially for that long commute or the summer drive back home.
Well, what should I listen to?
The best spot to begin is American Theatre Wing’s (ATW) various podcasts available through iTunes and Podcast Addict. These are in-depth interviews with designers, technicians, writers, directors and actors behind some of the most interesting theatre today.
The podcasts are:
ATW- Downstage Center
ATW – Working in the Theatre
ATW – This is Broadway
There are others under the ATW banner as well. Simply search for them through your podcast app.
There are also plenty of Theatre videos from ATW at http://americantheatrewing.org/videos/
