In coordination with a University donor and the LGBT Resource Center, there is a new $1,000 scholarship with preference to students who are in the arts – Music, Theater, and Dance. The donor has also requested that the scholarship be preferably given to a student who identifies as a gender identity or sexuality minority.
The purpose of the Jim Allen Fine Arts Memorial Scholarship is to honor the memory of Jim Allen- a beloved fixture in the New York piano bar world and musical theatre aficionado. Mr. Allen – a Kansas native – is memorialized by friends and family with this scholarship to benefit a student in the arts, with a preference given to those students that identify as a sexuality or gender identity minority in music, dance, or theatre.
Please return scholarship form and essay to the LGBT Resource Center (lgbt@ksu.edu) 207 Holton Hall by September 6, 2019.
The donor would like to have the scholarship awarded for the upcoming Fall 19 – Spring 20 academic year.
