Manhattan Arts Center will have openings for the following positions this summer:
1. Youth Honors Academy – This class is for serious, young artists grades 5-12. It meets Wednesdays 4:15-5:45 year round. The group often works on larger pieces or intricate pieces that can take more than 1 session to complete. This class takes a strong teacher but with a fun and vibrant personality. Right now the class is all girls, but we have 2 openings (we cap the class at 12). We’d like someone who can teach a variety of art techniques and mediums but is comfortable managing a group as well as catering to the individual students. To gain admission to the class, prospective students meet with the teacher to discuss skill level and ability to interact.
2. Camp MAC summer arts day camp – We offer 8 weeks of summer camp beginning the week of May 29, running 2 weeks on, 1 week off, ending Aug 10. Grades are K-6 for art camp, K-8 for drama camp. We’ll need art teachers and drama teachers.
We also need clay instructors, art instructors, drama instructors, and counselors to assist with those classes. I need to publish the camp schedule by mid-April so I have a bit of flexibility in planning a couple weeks if instructors have limited availability, but I would love to begin meeting potential teachers soon.
If you are interested in either of the above please send me a letter and resume (email is perfect) or contact me to chat more about the potential positions.
