K-State Theatre Presents: A Masterclass with Yvonne Miranda

By April 7, 2025News

As we grow as a program—and as we continue to mentor students to direct and design in our productions—we want to emphasize what we’ve shared in our scholarship submissions: we’re looking for students who show up, engage, and participate. This is one of those moments.

K-State Theatre is thrilled to announce that renowned costume designer Yvonne Miranda will be joining us as a QuVee Mock Masterclass Specialist! This is a rare and valuable opportunity to learn directly from a working theatre professional who continues to find the work—and who’s eager to share exactly how she does it.

Yvonne brings years of real-world experience, creative insight, and industry knowledge. She’ll guide you through the art and business of costume design, while also shedding light on how to sustain a meaningful and creative career in the professional theatre world.

This masterclass is not just for designers—it’s for all theatre students who want to better understand the collaborative nature of production and how various disciplines come together to bring a story to life.

Yvonne will also be joined by special guests via Zoom:

  • Matt Walters, Local 829 Central Region Union Business Representative

  • Christie Vela & Nathan Lily, Theatre Directors

  • Lydia Graboski-Bauer, Assistant Costume Designer/Costumer in LA’s film and television industry (Locals 892 & 705)

Date: April 17
Time: 10:00 AM
Location: N127

If you’d like to attend but need an excuse letter for class, David will be happy to provide one—just reach out.

Don’t miss this chance to connect with professionals, sharpen your understanding of the industry, and show your commitment to the vibrant theatre community we’re building at K-State.
