Opera In The Ozarks in Eureka Springs Arkansas is looking for an assistant technical director for their summer season. They would work under our TD and be part of our production team. We are looking for someone with good set construction skills, and a desire to gain the experience of producing sets for a summer festival. Lodging, meals and pay are included. It is a great opportunity for someone looking to enhance their skills and experience.
Pay is $3000 with lodging and meals provided, dates are May 19th-July 26th.

PROFILE:
Opera in the Ozarks at Inspiration Point (www.opera.org) is seeking an Assistant Technical Director
for its 2025 season. Now preparing for its 75thth season, Opera in the Ozarks is a training program for
aspiring opera singers in beautiful Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The company runs three mainstage
productions in repertory (7-8 performances each) and a smaller, traveling studio artist production for
a one-month season, mid-June to mid-July. The company comprises 40 vocal artists supported by an
artistic/administrative staff of 25 and a paid orchestra of 25. 2025 productions: Bizet’s Carmen,
Lehár’s The Merry Widow, and Sondheim’s Into The Woods. The Studio Artist program’s production is
TBA.
This year, Opera In the Ozarks will be opening its new state-of-the-art theater.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Opera in the Ozarks at Inspiration Point is seeking an Assistant Technical Director for its summer
season. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting the Scenic Designer /Technical Director in the construction of scenery
• Running scene shifts during show performances, nightly changeovers
• Supervising student/artist and volunteer workers, and other duties as needed.
• Working well under pressure and maintaining a positive team spirit
The successful applicant will be a creative, reliable, talented problem solver who does well under
pressure and has experience with typical power and pneumatic tools used in a scene shop, stage
carpentry, rigging, and running shows backstage.
The successful candidate will be hired as an independent contractor and no taxes will be withheld.
Compensation includes $3000 paid in three installments, a shared room with shared bathroom and
meals seven days/week for the period of the contract: May 19-July 26, 2025.
