Hollywood Production Designer and Director to Present Lecture Oct. 1

Former Hollywood production designer and director Jeffrey Townsend will present “The five things I learned in Hollywood” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, in Town Hall at the Leadership Studies Building.

The Kansas State University chapter of Society of Professional Journalists is hosting Townsend for the lecture, which is open to all Kansas State University students, staff and faculty. Tickets are not required.

Townsend designed for many films, including “Sleepless in Seattle” and “Fabulous Baker Boys.” He also composed music cues for “The Simpsons” and won an Emmy for his writing contribution on the first season of “Rugrats.”

In addition, Townsend will speak with A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications student groups, including the Society of Professional Journalists, Channel 8 News and other classes.
