Theatre Assistant Teaching Professor Joelle Ré Arp-Dunham’s edited collection, “Stanislavsky and Intimacy,” is being released on Nov. 8 by Routledge. It is the first academic edited book with a focus on how intimacy protocols, choreography and theories intersect with the broad practices of Konstantin Stanislavsky’s system.

Experts from Europe and the U.S. in Stanislavskian acting principals and the emerging field of consent and staged intimacy explore how a performance can be choreographed and truthful while making the production process better for everyone.

Arp-Dunham is a director, actor, intimacy choreographer and educator in both theatre and film. In addition to directing more than 50 productions and teaching countless acting classes, she was the founder and producing artistic director of the professional nonprofit Circle Ensemble Theatre Company in Athens, Georgia, from 2010-2019.
