Jacob Schermerhorn, a Film Student from the University of Kansas, is looking for students to cast for a short film project called “This is Control“. They plan to film in the Wamego/Manhattan area in March of this year. *This is a paid opportunity!*
Auditions:
Location: The Columbian Theatre in Wamego, KS
Date: Saturday, Feb. 8th
Time: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm – Those who audition just need to show anytime between those hours.
Audition Requirements: If interested, please email 1026cds@gmail.com! You will then receive more information including addresses, script sides, and what to be prepared for on the day of the auditions. You will also be asked to preform a short monologue along with the sides.
Attached below is the casting sheet as well as a synopsis of the film. (The ages on the sheet are the ages of the characters in the film and not the required age of the actors.)
Synopsis: “This is Control” is about Sam, a new student at a small town high school. After making friends one day in class, Sam is introduced to Andie. Desperate to have a relationship that fits her controlling standards, Andie finds Sam as an easy target to take control of to help escape her rough past. Their relationship gets pushed and tested and Sam learns to what extremes he’ll go to have a friend.
