Jesse Barnes won the Arex Award by student vote.
His nomination:
Jesse has done a lot of work for the department regarding lighting, such as, assistant lighting designer for Into the Woods, and actually lighting designer for Not Without Laughter among various other crews for other shows. He has also served as an amazing mentor for those that might have struggled with lighting and needed a helping hand or guidance. When ever I did not have time to feed myself during a show (due to class schedules) Jesse was always there to bring me a meal or offer words of encouragement if I was feeling extremely tired and worn down that day. I wholeheartedly believe Jesse is an unsung hero for this department. But the real cool thing is, Jesse seems to accept that with great professionalism and I respect the man immensely for that.
