AUDITION INFO: NOV. 16/17

Inn-Dependent will audition actors on Monday, Nov 16 in Nichols Hall from 7-10:30pm

This will be a stage reading of a new musical, “Inn-Dependent” written by Blake Cordell and directed by Kristin Kelley.

The most recent version of the script can be found HERE

The musical takes place in a financially unstable hotel, and as the Stackman family must decide whether to keep it or sell it, new bell hop Arty is introduced to the staff. He quickly realizes that the hotel’s competing cooks, lazy bellhops, and feuding managerial family are doing little to help the hotel prosper. All tensions escalate when a mysterious hotel inspector appears, leaving Arty to figure out how to bring the staff back together with enough time to save everyone’s jobs.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

The cast will simply be on stage with scripts in hand reading (and in this case, singing!) the show to the audience. This is a chance to put together a show in a shorter time period and relay the text itself to the audience, not having to worry about staging or moving. There will be no dancing, only emphasis on acting and singing! But wait, don’t sing? Good thing there are parts that can be performed as “Speak Sung”! Just come in for auditions and speak-sing the same excerpt as everyone else. Everyone is encouraged to audition!
