Below are the Arex award nominees that have been received. You may post anonymously in the comments below if there is anyone else you would like to see on the ballot. Later tonight a poll will be sent out for everyone to vote for a winner.
In alpha order:
Logan Jones
“I can’t think of any other person who embodies what it means to be a K-State theatre student better than Logan Jones. He is one of the most dedicated and kindest people you will ever meet, if you can see past his sarcasm. Logan has participated in numerous shows and department sponsored activists through out the semester as well as promoting our department to prospective students. He has been steadfast in his loyalty to the department. Logan embodies the characteristics that make K-State theatre students stand out: dedication, passion and intelligence. Logan deserves the honor of the Arex Award!”
Angelica McKinnis
“I nominate Angelica McKinnis for her hard work and dedication to the Theatre Department. In addition to being an active member of KSTO and Ebony Theatre, she participates in every show either as a member of the cast and crew or as the house manager.
Angelica is always willing to help out. She takes photos during the rehearsal process and records performances. She is a great collaborator, reliable and is invaluable to the department. Angelica deserves the Arex Ehrsam Award because she works subtly and quietly, setting a great example to others.”
Emily White
“I nominate Emily White for the Arex Award. She is the hardest working student I have seen this year. Her passion for stage-managing and all things technical and behind the scenes has enhanced many a K-State Theatre production. To watch her at work doing the stage-managing for the huge production of The Wedding Singer was like watching a well-choreographed dance. And beyond that she is a really good person: her honesty and integrity are much appreciated.”
“I would like to nominate Emily White for the Arex Ehrsam Award for her dedication and commitment to K-State Theatre. I had the pleasure of working with Emily this past fall in the shop and also under her as a crew member. At all times Emily demonstrates a professional and respectful attitude to others and creates an atmosphere during rehearsal encouraging discovery and communication. Situations that cause stress amongst the cast and crew are handled by Emily in a calm and patient manner. Emily confidently steps up to the task at hand, and is a blessing to our department.”
