Hello All!
I am super excited to begin the casting process for a stage show for the Kansas City Renaissance Festival (KCRF). Performance troupes put on a 25 minute set between 3 and 4 times a day of fair. I am looking for skilled singers, dancers, and comics(interdisciplinary skills are an asset!) who are generative, good, and kind creative spirits. We are looking at a small cast (3-6 entertainers per show), with a rotating cast for members to take certain days/weekends off. I am looking for a founding cast to participate in auditions (2-4 people) and contribute 2-4 hours of rehearsals for a 5-minute video to get this production approved for KCRF. Participating in this “audition crew” is not paid, but will give you the opportunity to really help shape the show. Should the show be approved, you will paid per performance day come fair season beginning in September.
About the Show
The show is a TWIST on Arthurian legend (Morgana La Fae, King Arthur, Merlin, Guinevere, etc). The show is going to tend toward comedy, camp, and farce with plenty of meta-humor (Monty Python’s Holy Grail, and Spamalot are examples of similar content and tone). The show will feature 3-part contemporary singing, group and/or solo/duet dance numbers, and a story to get the crowd laughing and participating.
