Are you interested in playwriting? Are you trying to develop skill as a screenwriter? Maybe you don’t have any interest in writing but you want to be a part of collaborative creative projects!

KSU Writer’s Room is a theatre group that meets weekly with the goal of creating a professional collaborative serial writing atmosphere. Every Sunday from 4-5pm in Nichols 009, the Writer’s Room meets to work on a monthly stage reading. You may have caught episode 1 of this semester’s serial last month. Episode 2 is under way right this very moment, and we would love for more students to be involved!

Actors, writers, editors; anyone’s welcome. Can’t commit to meeting every week? No problem! Just come when you can! The more voices we have in the room, the more readily we can replicate the professional world of writing.

We also have two projects this semester outside of our monthly serial! Between now and December we will be developing a collection of 10 Minute Plays. If you have a script that you’re looking for feedback on, an idea you’d like help developing, or even help starting from step 1 in developing an idea, get in touch with us. It is our hope to perform readings of two or three 10 Minute Plays alongside each episode of the semester’s serial.

We will also be developing a Holiday script, a special Showcase show for seniors to perform in December. This will be a big undertaking and we would love to have as many collaborators as possible! We will be brainstorming ideas for the plot of this script at this week’s meeting, Sunday October 8th.
