Renaissance Faire Needs Performers!

My name is Ann Warren and I am working with the KState campus group, Medieval & Renaissance Interest Association. We are putting on the second annual Little Apple Renaissance Festival which is to be held in City Park, next to Aggieville, on April 14th & 15th from 10am to 5pm both days. Last year we had over 1,500 come through over the weekend and we are planning to have more this year.

We are trying to find people who would be interested in performing at our event. We are looking for people to perform short scenes that could be from Shakespeare or other ‘period’ writers or even something original as long as it fits the medieval/renaissance theme and is family appropriate. We are also looking for dances either solo or groups as well as vocal and/or instrumental performances. We are also asking for volunteers to add a bit of atmosphere by being jokers, fools, jugglers, magicians, and other characters in fantasy period appropriate costumes.

We are short on costumes so if you are in need of a costume our group will be having several sewing sessions where we will be making some of our own costumes and would be happy to help if you need it. We are trying to get some more extra fabric so we can pull this together.

If you are interested please contact me ASAP and let me know what you would like to do. If you have a friend not in these departments that you think would enjoy helping out tell them about it and have them contact me. If you have the time and are interested in helping with costuming we would be more than happy to have the help. We are hoping to make this year’s Renaissance Festival even better than last year’s!

Thank you,
Ann Warren
