October Student Showcase!

By September 30, 2014Student Showcase

Student Showcase is an opportunity to perform anything that you have been wanting to work on or “showcase”.
To sign up please leave a comment with your name, the piece you’re working on, and how long it is. We’ll take the first 15 or so performers to sign up in an effort to finish up around midnight. Also, please put on the comment anything you would need, i.e. sound, acting blocks, etc.
Sign-up is open until 8:00 AM the day of Showcase.

This is a great way to practice for auditions, present a scene you are rehearsing in class, or just have fun performing.
All talents are encouraged to join, such as singing, acting, directing, dancing, poetry, instrumentals etc.
Another great way to get involved is to write a script or short scene! We’ll find people to read it! You can sign your work or leave it anonymous! Just bring it in and leave it on the edge of the stage.

The next showcase will be October 8th at 10:30pm in The Purple Masque. Even if you are not performing something come and support your friends who are and enjoy a free show. If you have questions you can email Mark Young (marky@ksu.edu).

What is the policy on having a person perform in two groups at one show case?

    • Mark Young

We try to make sure as many different people get to perform as we can, but it’s totally fine if you’re performing something yourself and also performing as part of a group as well!

      • Nicholas James Schoonover

        Ok thanks!

  • Nicholas James Schoonover

Okay, so also, Nicholas James Schoonover and Peighton Jamison- Slam poem about 4 minutes.

    Singing a song
    I’ll need sound

  • Lizzy Cook

Kelli, Lizzy, Roichard, Collin. A scene.

  • David Ollington

Elise Poehling, Jackie Newland, Paul Meissbach, song and scene. We need two chairs and a way to play recorded accompaniment.

  • David Ollington

Jackie Newland!!! I had the name wrong. Where’d I get ‘Trimble’? There, fixed it.

  • Devan Castle

A note for everyone who has sound needs. We have the capabilities of playing CD’s or ipods, computers, or anything with a 1/8″ headphone jack. If you have accompaniment, you will need to find a way of amplifying it yourself. The Masque doesn’t have the technology to do it.

    • Mitch Ward

      Thanks Devan!

  • Mitch Ward

If I can get a keyboard I would like to sing a song.

    • Mark Young

It’s a little last minute for me to find one, but if you have, you’re free to bring it in
